Bangle Size Guide

Getting bangle size right matters more than with most jewellery — too tight, and it won't pass over your hand; too loose, and it slides and clatters. The good news: you can measure accurately at home in under a minute with either of two methods below.

Method 1: Measure an Existing Bangle

This is the most reliable method if you already own a bangle that fits comfortably.

1. Place the bangle on a flat surface, resting on its side.
2. Using a ruler, measure the inner diameter — the straight-line distance across the inside of the circle, at its widest point.
3. Match this measurement to the closest size in the diameter chart below.

Method 2: Measure Your Hand

Use this method if you don't have a well-fitting bangle on hand.

1. Bring your thumb and little finger together, so your hand forms its narrowest possible shape.
2. Wrap a soft measuring tape (or a strip of paper, marked and then measured with a ruler) around the widest part of your hand, across the knuckles.
3. Note the circumference and compare it against the circumference chart below.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

• Measuring over swollen hands. Hands can swell slightly with heat or activity — measure at room temperature for a more consistent result.
• Rounding down "to be safe." A bangle that's too tight can't be worn at all, while one slightly looser is still comfortable and safer for most designs.
• Ignoring the bangle's opening style. Openable bangles (with a hinge or clasp) can fit more snugly since they don't need to pass over the knuckles; closed bangles need extra clearance.
• Using a stretched or worn measuring tape, which can throw off the reading by several millimetres.

Tips for a Comfortable Fit

A well-fitted bangle should slide over your hand with gentle pressure — not force, and not so loose that it spins freely and knocks against your wrist bone constantly. If you're between two sizes, consider whether the bangle is a single rigid piece (round up) or an adjustable/openable style (either size can work).
